Tamar Guimarães (*1967 in Belo Horizonte/Brazil) studied art theory at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Denmark and visual arts at the Malmö Art Academy in Sweden and Goldsmiths College, University of London.
Her artistic work gathers documents as palimpsests and considers historical narratives as contingent and fluid and as spaces from which to speculate about the present. She organizes small, intimate gatherings, collective readings, public lectures, and small-scale film screenings, and explores the possibilities of creating transient micro-communities and small-scale public events.
