Mitti Mazdoori Mahaul, 2023 - ongoing. A collaborative project initiated by Hira Nabi and Nida Rehman, Of Mountains and Seas, Lahore Biennale 03, 2024, Lahore, Pakistan.

Hira Nabi is an artist who works with moving images, performance, and writing. In her artistic practice, she collaborates with others to reflect on the disappearance and erasure of multiple worlds—afterlives, parallel temporalities, labour infrastructures, and beauty found in unexpected places. She is particularly concerned with connecting the histories of colonial extraction to ongoing structures of violence.

Her work seeks ways to make gestures of care, justice, and dignity visible and communicable—always with a deep awareness of the human need for survival and self-determination. A central aspect of her practice involves gathering, documenting, and archiving personal testimonies in the wake of destruction, loss, and extinction. She understands witnessing not merely as remembrance, but as an active, political act—one full of strength and radical possibility. Through this commitment, she creates spaces for collective responsibility, mutual care, and a tender, resistant form of love.
