As part of the Open Studios, Künstlerhaus Bethanien regularly opens its doors to the public and provides a special insight into the studios of its international scholarship holders. Visitors are invited to meet the artists in their workspaces, talk to them and get to know their artistic practices and processes.
Our studios are creative laboratories for artists, where current projects are presented, working approaches are discussed and ideas are developed further. In contrast to the exhibitions on the first floor, where mostly completed works and projects are shown, the focus of the Open Studios is on the artistic process. A work is shown at a specific moment in its creation – unfinished, open, in flux.
