According to the curators of “Rest in Space”, their exhibition – with which Künstlerhaus Bethanien is opening 2003 – can be described as a “nomadic camp”. Nomads in this sense means people driven to investigate, the searchers and the eternally mobile who begin their productive motion and search for meaning afresh each day. The curators want to present examples of nomadic aesthetics to the viewers, and they see their exhibition – organized in collaboration with Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo – as an “endless journey” in space, investigating not only nomadism but also the role of artist residencies in supporting nomadic art.
