What are the possibilities for man to observe and understand the world beyond the rational mind? This is the essential question Mikko Rikala seeks to instantiate through his work. Epistemological by nature, his work examines the tension between \u201cseeing\u201d, which can be equated with the realm of physics and its measurable dimensions as a form of rational knowledge, and \u201cperceiving\u201d as a conscious moment of subjective experience that produces a form of potentially irrational knowledge. The logic of the irrational is based on the assumption of a mutually inclusive relationship in that \u2018rational experiments can result in the discovery of something irrational\u2019.<\/p>\n
