{"id":23146,"date":"2018-01-17T16:00:14","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T16:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zen-morse.176-96-136-90.plesk.page\/en\/?post_type=kb_artist&#038;p=23146"},"modified":"2018-01-17T15:59:50","modified_gmt":"2018-01-17T15:59:50","slug":"josee-pedneault","status":"publish","type":"kb_artist","link":"https:\/\/bethanien.de\/en\/artists\/josee-pedneault\/","title":{"rendered":"Jos\u00e9e Pedneault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Referencing philosophy, scientific theories as well as traditional cosmogonies,\u00a0my artistic practice questions belief systems that define &#8211; from elementary particles to the limits of the universe &#8211; our conception of the natural world.\u00a0Of particular significance is\u00a0the way in which abstract concepts take tangible forms, such as maps and time-measuring devices; forms that reflect our psychological, cultural and historical understanding of the world. In my process, I freely adopt scientific research methods and references such as the collection of proof-like material, the examination of archives, the use of databases, and the observation of natural phenomena.<\/p>\n<p>I build installations using photographs combined with objects, drawings, archive material, and small sculptures. The fragmented layering and synthesis of these diverse forms, images, combined with shifts in perspective, disrupt a unified reading. Between projection of the future and archaeology of the past, time is presented as simultaneous and elliptical.
