In Daniel Lie\u2019s work\u00a0time is the central pillar of reflection.\u00a0From the oldest and most affective memory –\u00a0involving\u00a0family and personal stories – to memories objects transport enduring\u00a0the world\u00a0over longest time scales;\u00a0the work is inspired by\u00a0the period of a lifetime and\u00a0the duration\u00a0and\u00a0states of the elements.<\/p>\n

Through installations,\u00a0sculptures, and\u00a0the\u00a0hybridization of art languages,\u00a0the objects\u00a0refer to\u00a0concepts\u00a0stemming from\u00a0the art of performance\u00a0itself\u00a0– an art\u00a0which is\u00a0based on time, ephemerality, and presence. To highlight these three instances,\u00a0Lie produces installations that have the presence of other-than-humans<\/em> elements such as decaying matter, growing plants, fungi\u00a0revealing the time they contain as it relates with the human body.<\/p>\n
