Knut Ivar Aaser (born 1986, Oslo) received his education from National Academy of Fine Art in Oslo, Kungliga Konsth\u00f6gskolan Stockholm, and Akademie der Bildenden K\u00fcnste M\u00fcnchen. His practice circulates around a set of ideas, which are materialized through techniques such as drawing, jacquard knitting, printmaking and sculpture. <\/p>\n
His work pays attention to topics that explore the distinction between decor and decay, the sociological notion of \u201ctaste\u201d and observations of mundane life. These observations are involved in his artistic practice in which he explores how sensible qualities of different materials are conveyed while applying small gestures and symbols to propose a shift within aesthetic hierarchies.<\/p>\n
His works have been exhibited at various artist-run spaces and galleries both nationally and abroad.
