Their work is grounded in an ongoing exploration of how stories are constructed, remembered, and transformed, moving fluidly between mediums to create immersive, layered experiences. Through these shifting forms, Ezra \u0160imek constructs speculative worlds and alternative archives \u2013 spaces where marginalized histories are not only preserved but actively reimagined, reactivated, and made livable in the present.  <\/p>\n<p>Drawing on pop culture, as well as queer and trans experience, the artist approaches storytelling as both a method and a form of resistance. Their practice is deeply invested in the power of narrative to challenge dominant histories and to open up new temporalities and possibilities. By weaving together elements of speculative fiction, personal memory, and genre conventions, they create works that blur boundaries between fact and fiction, documentation and invention.  <\/p>\n<p>In 2026, the K\u00fcnstlerhaus Bethanien and the International Centre for Contemporary Art MeetFactory in Prague initiate a new residency exchange programme for the first time, supported by German-Czech Future Fund.
