{"id":19163,"date":"2015-09-23T12:24:39","date_gmt":"2015-09-23T12:24:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zen-morse.176-96-136-90.plesk.page\/?post_type=kb_exhibition&#038;p=19163"},"modified":"2015-09-23T12:49:08","modified_gmt":"2015-09-23T12:49:08","slug":"window-display-15","status":"publish","type":"kb_exhibition","link":"https:\/\/bethanien.de\/en\/exhibitions\/window-display-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Window Display"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>In the Roaring Garden<\/em><br \/>\nUSA 2014<\/p>\n<p>Based on the architectural outline of American transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862), the artist William Lamson built a floating blockhouse which acts as a camera obscura.<br \/>\nThoreau is widely known for the work <em>Walden, or Life in the Woods<\/em>, a diary of his two-year long escape from the emergence of industrialization in search for a deeper understanding of the changing society through personal introspection. The camera obscura includes a re-imagined cabin\u2019s interior in which merging with nature can be seen in a literal sense: the projected images of the environment interact with the symbols of man\u2019s action.<br \/>\n<strong>William Lamson<\/strong> *1977, lives and works in New York, USA<br \/>\n<a title=\"www.williamlamson.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.williamlamson.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.williamlamson.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The on-going screening series\u00a0<em>Phantom Horizons<\/em>\u00a0presents digital as well as analogue works that question the paradigm of\u00a0<em>linear perspective<\/em>, seeking for a new kind of \u201c<em>status perspective<\/em>\u201d [<em>Bedeutungsperspektive<\/em>]. The latter was a development of medieval painting, in which the size of figures is determined by their hierarchical significance.
