{"id":28943,"date":"2020-11-16T12:00:54","date_gmt":"2020-11-16T12:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zen-morse.176-96-136-90.plesk.page\/?post_type=kb_exhibition&#038;p=28943"},"modified":"2020-12-03T12:23:07","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T12:23:07","slug":"open-window-sara-issakharian-2","status":"publish","type":"kb_exhibition","link":"https:\/\/bethanien.de\/en\/exhibitions\/open-window-sara-issakharian-2\/","title":{"rendered":"OPEN WINDOW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sara Issakharian\u2019s new series of work draws on the difficulties people especially women are facing in her country of origin, Iran.\u00a0Through the medium of painting and drawing, she attempts to shed some light on the many multifaceted destinies stemming from our turbulent times.\u00a0By using the sometimes allegorical language of tales, she tries to depict a stage on which characters play different roles, just as in Dante\u2019s\u00a0<em>Divine Comedy<\/em>,\u00a0there is a possibility for each character to move between light and dark.\u00a0Nevertheless, the characters are constrained to the limits of the stage they are set upon. In the painting\u00a0<em>Dreamers<\/em>\u00a0the characters allude to seemingly\u00a0known figures and tales of the collective memory, varying from folk stories such as the\u00a0<em>Little Red Ridinghood<\/em>\u00a0to the poetry of the Inferno.<\/p>\n<p>OPEN WINDOW is a series of presentations by the artists-in-residence at K\u00fcnstlerhaus Bethanien,\u00a0who currently don\u2019t have the chance to show their work in the usual Open Studios and exhibitions.\u00a0Their works can be seen from 4pm to 12am at the window front, Kottbusser Str 10 each day.
