ince 1993, BE Magazine has been an integral part of Künstlerhaus Bethanien, serving as a platform for discourse, documentation, and critical reflection. Over the decades, the magazine has continuously evolved — from early thematic editions and provocative debates to an increasing focus on the practices of resident artists. Since 2014, it has become a growing archive dedicated exclusively to the institution’s international guests and artistic community.
This new issue reaffirms the magazine’s core mission: documenting a year at Künstlerhaus Bethanien through exhibitions, collaborations, special projects, and artistic processes developed within the house itself. With extended exhibition periods introduced in 2025, artists are given more space for experimentation and resonance, reflected in longer and more in-depth texts. Featuring a new visual identity by Kadi Windhorst (studiokwi) and Bianca Seidel, BE Magazine No. 32 emphasizes accessibility, clarity, and exchange while continuing to highlight the significance of contemporary art in all its diversity and societal impact.
